IL-2 ‘Cabin Fever’ codes being sent out to new players

1CGS ‘Cabin Fever’ sale is on with a one-time 50-75% off voucher available for most titles in the store including IL-2: Battle of Bodenplatte and Flying Circus Vol 1. A lot of players, however, are new to the series and hadn’t received the vouchers in their new accounts. That is now automated as of today according to 1CGS in a Facebook post.

New accounts get the voucher automatically

A Facebook post on the IL-2 Sturmovik official account reminded players of the voucher codes which are good for 30-days along with an update on the voucher system.

We have automated the process for new users who sign up on our website. You’ll receive the code in about an hour after sign up. We have also sent out codes to all new players who signed up with us over the weekend.

Good news for new players jumping into the series for the first time.

The codes include 50% off Battle of Bodenplatte and Flying Circus Vol 1 as well as 75% off all other released content in the IL-2 store. Steam users can link their accounts to their IL-2 Sturmovik account and still purchase through the IL-2 website. Unfortunately the vouchers don’t work on Steam directly but 1CGS has done what they can to make them available via this alternate route.

It was good of the devs to offer this coupon. It showed some class.

I hope Steam has some “stay at home” sales. I’ve got a few bucks sitting in my Steam wallet.

Steam would be smart to roll out a sale ASAP. Even smarter for 1CGS to be ahead of the curve.

Yes, good for them. A lot of compagnies make an effort in these very disturbing times, like free phone calls, reduced fees, and sales. It’s a bit of opportunism sometimes, but mainly general support, it’s good for morale 🙂

Certainly a little opportunism to be sure but also good for morale. A rare win win I think!

Ubisoft has stuff on sale. Hope DCS jumps in.

Supercarrier next week maybe. That’ll be good.

FC is tempting, though it seems MP-oriented and I’m mostly single player. The Kaiserschlacht community mini-campaign seems nice, on the other hand, and there’s PWCG… Dilemna 😉 Worth the jump?

If you enjoy WWI I think it is. FC looks and feels great and as good as anything else in IL-2: Great Battles. It’s thin on content but PWCG and the mini campaign do help!

Steam has the DCS F-16 at a solid discount. More to follow I’ll bet.

As for IL2 FC, I think it’s great. Lots of character.

Do I get credit as a roving reporter or a confidential source? 🙂

I’m not jumping on the F-16, I want to see what else goes on sale.

What sounds more exciting? Confidential source? 😀

I am going to write a state of the F-16 update soon. I’ve got a little more of my own experience needed before I write that.

Confidential source works for me. Makes me sound cool.

Maybe tomorrow something else will be on sale. At 50% off I’d consider the F-14 just because I have the carrier pre-ordered. And the F-14 is, from what I saw in the free demo, the most wicked eye candy on a simplane ever.

The F-14 is a very cool aircraft. I found it quite complex at first but I got into it more and more. It’s beautifully detailed and one of the best modules in DCS World. It’s definitely worth a solid look.

Turns out the free trial is part of a much bigger plan from ED. Check out the latest news 🙂
