Team Fusion’s Desert Wings also extends the Channel War to 1941

For those anticipating the release of Team Fusion’s Desert Wings – Tobruk there’s a little more good news to celebrate. The developers have talked about how the expansion will add to the Cliffs of Dover Blitz experience and extend the campaign from the Battle of Britain on to the Channel War of 1941. Plus we have some nice new screenshots.

From desert to the battle over the channel

The addition of new aircraft makes the 1941 channel battle a reality for what might be the first time in flight sim history. While the Battle of Britain in 1940 is well known, the on-going battles over the channel for the next three years are rarely given much attention in historical flight simulators.

Now, with a Spitfire Mark V and various models of the Bf109F series coming to Desert Wings, there’s a new opportunity to make use of these in a more temperate setting. The current map in Cliffs of Dover more than able to support these encounters which means that the stage is set and Team Fusion is taking of the opportunity advantage to simulate this lesser known part of the air war in Europe during WWII.

A couple more screenshots were also released by the team on their Twitter page of some Blenhiems on the attack. Have a look!

I love the quality of their work, especially the cockpits and attention to detail with FMs but where o’ where is the VR?

The developers have now stated that VR and updated weather are two post launch roadmap features. Once I have a little more on both I’ll write something up about them.

Well, this is going to be an expensive month for me then… Star War Squadrons, FS2020, and now Desert Wings…

And the expectation is we’ll start seeing the next gen 3D cards in September too…

Haha I hear you Harry! Expensive and there’s so much to talk about right now too. Although 2020 has, in general, not been a great year on the whole it has definitely been a great year for flight simming as a hobby.
