Those looking forward to the Flight Simulator Update 5 patch will have to wait a bit longer as Microsoft and developer Asobo Studios have decided to hold the patch to solve issues rather than release it in an unfinished state. Here’s what we know.
Autopilot continues to trouble Flight Simulator
It seems the dreaded autopilot remains an issue and one that Asobo Studios is actively working on for Update 5. According to a short statement released earlier today, the developers noted that autopilot across various aircraft were the cause of the issue.
We encountered some issues related to the autopilot across various planes right before we were set to release Update 5. We decided to take some extra time to address the issues to ensure that everyone will enjoy this update. It’s going to take a few days, but it is close! Thank you for your patience.
Microsoft Flight Simulator dev team
Although disappointing, the issues with autopilot have been a major problem since the launch of the title and it continues to plague some aircraft at least some of the time and it really needs complete attention before Asobo Studios can move on to other feature enhancements.
Its unclear if the new patch introduces new bugs or needs to solve old ones before it released – or a mix of both. Either way, I’m glad to see the patch held until its in better shape than trying to hit an unreasonable deadline and releasing a broken patch. We’ve seen this kind of thing happen before and frankly I think everyone is happier if that next patch comes later on but solves more problems or doesn’t add new ones to the pile.
CP 2077 delayed also. Just 2020 things 😦

That one was weird. From what I’m hearing, even the developers sideline it was getting delayed until the announcement. My guess is there we a some problem with the delivery mechanisms or some sort of contractual thing that needs to be fixed, rather than it being a core game code issue.
