RAZBAM round-up with F-15E, Tucano, M-2000C and AV-8B updates

As is their style, RAZBAM have released a series of small updates on a variety of their projects including the F-15E Strike Eagle, the Super Tucano, the M-2000C and the AV-8B. This is a round up of the latest news.

RAZBAM F-15E external model

Released just yesterday evening, RAZBAM has released two new shots of the exterior model of their F-15E Strike Eagle project for DCS World. The aircraft is highly anticipated and we’ve seen quite a bit of the front cockpit but now we’re starting to see the exterior model too.

New ILS landing setup for M-2000C

RAZBAM have made some updates to the M-2000C which will be coming in a future update. The first is around the ILS system, which previously required a dedicated waypoint created by the mission builder. As such, it was useless in multiplayer. Now the M2000C can use the ILS HUD symbology based on ILS and the CP-PD setting on the INS without a waypoint.

There’s also a new video about the new “Desired Route / Route Desirée (RD)” feature. This is a HUD director intended for travel to a waypoint along a predefined route. Check out the video to see it in action.

Hotspot detector for AV-8B

Released without too much information, the AV-8B appears to be getting an IR based hotspot detector intended to be used with the aircraft’s various sensors. The detector appears to be able to detect hot objects on both ground and in the air. Presumably this can be used to slave weapons onto target and aid in spotting.

Super Tucano forges ahead

It’s been a few years since RAZBAM talked about doing the Super Tucano but it seems that we’re starting to see more progress. We’ve seen the 3D model take shape over the last year but now we’re seeing it appear with texture work completed.

It still has a way to go but this is still notable progress.

Stay up to date

Hi, not sure if you have already covered this, but there is a Super Tucano mod for DCS.

Hi Chris. Covering DCS World mods is just something I haven’t done a lot of unless they really make news like the A-4 did. There’s a really good F-22 making the rounds right now too.

I think they are cool but I’m not really into them myself so my reporting would not be as good as I’d prefer it to be.

Worth checking into if you’re into mods though!

I’d be willing to bet a Pint that the Tucano update was prompted by the new free mod that’s presently making the rounds…

Good to see Strike Eagle “in the flesh” finally. Obviously a highly anticipated module by many – and I hope I live long enough to fly it 😉

Mirage & Harrier keep getting incrementally better – Kudos!

It’s possible that the mod has spurred RAZBAM to post about it although we’ve seen several updates of the model over the last few months as progress seems to have resumed on the art side of the project at the very least.

We all hope that we’re young enough to eventually see the F-15E in DCS World 😉
