DCS World third party developer RAZBAM has been active recently showing off new images of their work in progress DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle teasing some new information about the aircraft. There’s also some new images of their DCS: South Atlantic map that is currently under development. Let’s check it out.
Strike Eagle progress
Two new exterior images and one new image of the cockpit have been released for the DCS: F-15E Strike Eagle project by RAZBAM. The new images show off more exterior details than we’ve seen and a clear indication that the exterior model and texture work has been progressing.
The same can be said for the cockpit which appears to be showing off some really nice detailing including some nice reflective textures and detailing all over what we can see of the cockpit. There’s likely a lot more that’s not finished and thus is not being shown here but there is clear progress.
The tweet that these are attached to indicates a Suite 4+ aircraft. I haven’t been able to dig up much on what that exactly means although it seems to indicate that the aircraft will approximate the state of the Strike Eagle circa 2001-02.
South Atlantic update
More images are appearing of the DCS: South Atlantic map. RAZBAM, as you may recall, have dramatically scaled up the map to include most of the southern tip of South America as well as the Falkland Islands.
The latest images appear to be from all over the map and show off both the map itself as well as the various signs of civilization in that region. You can also see airport details and more. Check it out in these series of tweets from RAZBAM CEO Ron Zambrano.

Looking forward to the plane and the map. The islands look a bit dull, but the mainland may be the saving grace.

I understand from somewhere that did 6 months is that the islands are a bit dull, akin to the Hebrides that can look beautiful on a nice day but are not that inspiring much of the time.

Even pilots who have been down there say it’s dark territory. Good on a sunny day, but they are few and far between. I did a flight in and out of RAF Mount Pleasant on a Tri-Star from Ascension, I found depressing after 3 hours on the tarmac

I’m still hoping for a North Cape map. Northern half of Norway and over to the Kola Peninsula…and the Barents Sea. Cold War potential right there…
