The day has arrived for the long awaited World Update 3 with a focus on the United Kingdom and Ireland. The world update comes together with a significant patch for the series with plenty of fixes for terrain, aircraft, VR and more.

Patch overview

The highlight of the new patch is the optional World Update (available for free from the MSFS Marketplace). The update includes new aerial imagery, new height maps for terrain detail, over 70 points of interest, 5 new aiports, two new landing challenges and 5 cities done over with detailed photogrammetry.

Core features of the sim have also been updated. Various crashes have been resolved, terrain spikes have been reduced (although some are still reporting them so your mileage may vary), water masks have been updated and added in various areas around the world, VR features and functionality has been updated, and several flight model updates have been made including tweaks to the ground effect calculations.
