IL-2 Sturmovik series roadmap

Korea IL-2 Series

Now officially launched, Korea IL-2 Series is the first in the next generation of IL-2 Sturmovik flight sim series. The series has launched with 8 aircraft and with an addition 5 DLC aircraft planned. Base game includes the F-86, MiG-15bis, IL-10, F-84E, Yak-9P, La-11, F-51D, and F-80C as flyable types.

Here is what is currently coming up:

  • Deck Ops DLC – A five plane DLC that includes an Essex class carrier for carrier operations. Aircraft includes the F2H Banshee, F9F Panther, F4U-4 Corsair, AD-4 Skyraider, and FB.11 Sea Fury. Launch is expected in Q1 2027.
  • Training module – A dedicated training system is expected to be added in Q3 of 2026.
  • Dynamic campaign – A dynamic campaign system with state persistence and alterable history is planned for the series. No launch dates are currently available.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles

There is still currently quite a bit of content in development for the Great Battles series despite the long running series having been succeeded by Korea IL-2 Series. Here is what is currently on schedule:

  • Odessa and Leningrad – Siege and Liberation DLC pack development continues with all aircraft currently released and updates to Career mode planned. Those additions are expected to be complete by Q4 of 2026
  • Bombers DLC – A new expansion DLC pack for Great Battles including the P-39Q, P-47M, B-25C/D, B-26B-55, and A-20G. First content is expected to arrive in Q2 2027.

Team Fusion / IL-2 Cliffs of Dover series

Covering the channel war of autumn 1941 up to the Dieppe raid in August 1942, Fortresses and Focke Wulf’s has been confirmed as the next DLC add-on for the IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover series.

Early model Fw190A, Typhoon, Bf110, Spitfire V and Spitfire IX, P-51A and Beaufighter are all confirmed single and twin engine aircraft while the team also confirm that a B-17E is planned as release content too. Upgraded Channel Map, graphics and VR features are all planned.

According to initial information, the project was initially aimed at 2024, however, no new ETA is available and the project may not ship until 2027 or later.
