Earlier today, DCS 2.7.9.17830 Open Beta came out and it is full of updates including some very long lists for types like the DCS: AJS-37. Meanwhile other aircraft have also seen some nice updates like the DCS: Mosquito which gets it’s RP-3 rockets and the DCS: F-16C comes packing dozens of new capabilities including ECM abilities for the first time. Plus two new campaigns have released alongside the new open beta, DCS: A-10C Iron Flag Part I by Baltic Dragon and DCS: UH-1H Paradise Lost by Reflected Sims. Let’s check it out!

A massive list of updates

The list of updates packed into this latest version of the DCS World Open beta is massive. They contain small and large updates across a multitude of platforms. DCS WWII aircraft get some attention with a new mission, titled ‘Low Level Hell,’ featuring a low altitude bomber attack on The Channel map. The DCS: Mosquito gets its RP-3 rockets for the first time which will enhance its attack capabilities and rounds out type’s available weapons load. Plus several bug fixes are also in place as a result.

The AJS-37 Viggen has a massive list of updates. There are texture updates inside and out, lighting updates, bug fixes and new features.

The F-14 also sees some significant lighting updates that players have been hoping to see after DCS World 2.7 caused some issues earlier in the year.

The DCS: F-16C has seen a ton of updates. From the ground-attack oriented HMCS features to the new ECM pod and the ability for the jet to be affected by ECM, and a bunch of new pages have been added to the jet’s feature list. It all moves the needle forward for that jet.

There’s also two new campaigns released today. DCS: UH-1H Paradise Lost by Reflected Sims makes use of the new free Marianas map and the Huey for what looks like a fun setup. Baltic Dragon releases his latest effort with DCS: A-10C Iron Flag Part I. Part 1 consists of ten training missions that are highly detailed and authentic to A-10C training.
