The third aircraft of the Microsoft/Asobo Local Legends series for Microsoft Flight Simulator is out and available for purchase in the marketplace. This release brings us the Beechcraft Bonanza V35. An aircraft that packs in performance, history and some stylish good looks too – that is, if you like the v-tail!
Fast, sleek post-war GA!
Microsoft and Asobo have continued to work with their partnerships to release us new aircraft into the marketplace. This time, it’s the Beechcraft Bonanza V35 and it was created yet again with the aid of Carenado following on with some other Beechcraft aircraft releases.
The Bonanza V35 is a historical model and was originally built between 1966 and 67 and it features the original, distinctive, V-tail with a ruddervator configuration rather than the conventional rudder and elevator. The two are connected together which should allow for better coordination in turns. Carenado reported in today’s live stream that the flight model doesn’t full support a V-tail so they had to come up with some creative solutions. Curious to see what that feels like.
The aircraft has dual reputations of being a fast and popular aircraft in the post-war GA boom while also having a problematic safety record. The V-tail was the cause of some of this with a series of failures in the 1980s that were later corrected. There were also a series of crashes although many were attributed to pilot error.
It’s powered by a 6-cylinder IO-520B engine with 285 horsepower. Cruise speed of 203 miles per hour and a range of 900 miles. It can also reach 17,500 feet for its service ceiling.
Sounds like another great cross country GA-airplane!
The Asobo/Carenado Beechcraft Bonanza V35 is available in the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace for $15.99 USD. Check out the official announcement here!
