A while back I picked up the TorqueSim BN-2B Islander and had quite a bit of fun flying it in X-Plane 12. This small utility airplane has an interesting history and some impressive short field performance. Up until now, this airplane has been available only for X-Plane 11 but now, with a recently released version 2.0, update, the BN-2 series from TorqueSim makes the jump to 12.

The Islander ready for 12

The Islander, or more accurately the Islanders, are ready for X-Plane 12 thanks to a series of upgrades and updates that TorqueSim in association with X-Aviation have done to the airplane.

The updates bring the airplane into alignment with various features from X-Plane 12 including new lighting, reworked sounds, visual ice-accumulation, and updated textures. The full change log is reproduced below.

Check out the announcement on the TorqueSim website.

now we have one from Nimbus, Thranda and TorqueSim.

out of curiosity is there any other module similarly popular in XP?

I don’t think there is. You’re right, there are a lot of Islanders! Maybe if you count all of the 737 variants/re-releases (some controversial) out there… but as far as distinct products I think this is it.
