The Fokker F28 from Just Flight, a late 1960s era jet airliner, is about to release onto their storefront starting tomorrow and ahead of the launch of the aircraft are a series of video tutorials that will prepare you for your first flights. Let’s check them out!

Get prepared

The F28 Professional for Microsoft Flight Simulator launches tomorrow and here are a series of tutorials that you can watch to prepare yourself for flight. ‘Powering on the aircraft,’ ‘Engine Start and Taxi,’ ‘Takeoff and Climb,’ and finally ‘Descent, Touchdown and Shutdown’ are the series of four videos that Just Flight have released.

You can watch them all below as a playlist series on their YouTube channel.

Just Flight have also released a product overview video which shows off the aircraft and its features in a quick look at the aircraft. I appreciate the overview of the four variants that are included in the package describing the differing lengths, wings, exit configurations and so forth.

  1. Looks like another great addon from them! While I adore their BAe 146 in part because it’s such an interesting IRL aircraft, I’ll pass on this one simply due to its high price.

Sadly, they’ve recently confirmed that they’re nowhere near close to updating their X-Plane addons due to perceived lack of popularity.

I had hoped they might go for a slightly lower price and potentially pick up some more sales. Of course, I’m not their business manager of course so I don’t have the numbers.

They seem to have done a good job updating a good chunk of their GA collection for 12 but I guess there are not similar plans for their airliners eh?

I, too, had hoped for a price or product line more aligned with its competition from PMDG & Fenix, instead of just carrying on with old school Prepar3D pricing.

Alas, I had some back & forth with Scott from JF and it seems they believe their 28 year old business model serves them exceedingly well…
…except when it comes to X-Plane, somehow.

While it appears they have 2 – 3 XP v12 compatible addons now, exactly ZERO of them are ones I purchased: Vulcan, Hawk, Turbo Arrow and BAe 146.

I’m no expert on flight sim addon development, but their story doesn’t align well with what other devs are doing across both XP and MSFS.

Just Flight do seem to be somewhat rooted in a slightly older way of doing things but some of their competition are also doing that. Upstarts in the market have opportunities to make inroads where they may be missing.

There are several GA airplanes in X-Plane 12 now but their airliners may be a longer wait. I guess we have to see if its worth it for them at all. I’ve kind of been hoping to see Laminar say more about where 12 is headed and some of the developers may be as well.

  2. I dunno, but all I saw from JF in the past was indicating that they will bring the whole fleet to XP12.
do you guys can find any other statements from them?
