The folks at Bluebird Simulations have provided a new update on their plans for the 757 and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Let’s check it out!

August update

One of the last updates from Bluebird indicated that the team were no longer targeting a 2023 release and instead were planning to release in 2024. They appear to have taken some criticism from some sections of the community over this so this video appears to address that. It’s worth reiterating that complex simulations of airliners, general aviation, helicopters and combat aircraft take time and delays are inevitable. Regular readers will know how many times we’ve seen various projects delayed.

Meanwhile, in this latest update, we’ve learned a bit about what they are doing right now. It sounds like the programming of the flight management systems including accurate VNAV and LNAV, ILS, autoland and others are an ongoing priority.

We also get some great visuals of the 757 which has really started to look like a near finished product on the outside.

  1. Good on them. If they rush to release too early, they’ll never live it down.

As long as they have the cash on hand, better to gut it out like A2A Sims did with the Comanche.
