SimWorks Studios is keeping themselves in the news quite effectively these days with the PC-12 getting close to release and attracting plenty of attention including a great little interview with ‘twotonemurphy.’ Meanwhile their other products are getting their own updates and their Kodiak is having a sale. Let’s look at it all!
PC-12 interview
I’m extremely excited to get my hands on SWS’s PC-12 for Microsoft Flight Simulator and this interview with streamer and YouTuber ‘twotonemurphy’ hasn’t dulled my excitement at all – if anything, it has increased it.
Check out this great little interview where the SWS team talk about their efforts to build the PC-12. This is a product that they say is the next level for them beyond their Kodiak 100 – an already excellent entry in the MSFS aircraft line-up. The PC-12 is reportedly a project that took a lot longer than they expected and has the avionics complexity of an airliner. The preview helps to highlight that well.
Kodiak sale
From now until Sunday, SWS are offering their Kodiak 100 Series II and Series III Amphibian up for 50% off on their website. Other vendors don’t appear to be part of the sale although the Marketplace is apparently offering it too.
The wheeled Kodiak 100 Series II drops in price to just €14.99 while the Amphibian Series III variant drops down to €7.49.
I’m a big fan of the Kodiak having recently done some fun bush flying with it in New Guinea featuring some MSFS scenery in the area. My full review is on offer here if you want to read it.
Other aircraft updates

SimWorks Studios have been working on their other aircraft as well. The RV-10 gets an update that their testers confirm has finally solved the screen going blank bug on the aircraft with all three screen configurations: GNS430, PMS and TDS GTN650. The update has been submitted to Microsoft and is rolling out to other vendors sometime this week.
Meanwhile the Zenith update has been sent over to Microsoft, was sent back due to some localization issues with the bush trip, and is now back with Microsoft. That update is due with other vendors this week too.
We’ve also got an update on the diminutive RV-8. The RV-8 in the picture is owned by one of the testers who has been providing feedback and telemetry to help make the aircraft as good as it can be. Artwork is complete and SWS are confirming that this airplane will ship with both analogue and G3X equipped cockpits with both tricycle and tail dragger variants. TDS and PMS GTNs are also going to be on offer.
Keep an eye on SWS’s Facebook page for more!
