This week’s Microsoft Flight Simulator development update comes to us with some new information about items that are coming up in the MSFS roadmap. We now know when the Mitsubishi MU-2 is going to arrive and we also know that the next World Update is being pushed back a week. Let’s go.

Moving dates and content

Two key items in this week’s update include news that World Update XV: Northern Europe & Greenland as well as accompanying Local Legend 14, the Saab B 17, will be pushed back. Originally slated for release on October 31, the team is pushing their release back by one week. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but worth noting as it diverges from the previously announced plan.

The other item is news that the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries MU-2 is launching next week. This is an iniBuilds/Microsoft collaboration and its been in the works for some time now. During the last Q&A we heard from Jorg Neumann, head of Microsoft Flight Simulator, who said that the project was nearly complete and they were working with Mitsubishi on the last minute licensing details. It sounds like that has been sorted out!

The launch of these content items will put as at the end of the currently published development roadmap (which hasn’t been updated to reflect the one week delay). Of course we already know that there’s other content coming down the pipeline including iniBuilds rendition of the Airbus A320neo which will be offered at a higher fidelity level than the default A320neo that shipped with MSFS in the early days.

Stay tuned for more updates next week as the MU-2 arrives!
