Coming soon to Microsoft Flight Simulator is Just Flight’s rendition of the Avro Vulcan B Mk. 2, K.2 & MRR. We’ve got new screenshots and details on how some of the aircraft’s systems will work.
New updates on Vulcan
Designed just a handful of years after the Avro Lancaster and Lincoln bombers, the Vulcan was a big step forward into the world of jet aviation for the RAF’s bomber force and a successful one at that seeing long service from 1956 until the early 1980s with most being withdrawn from service in 1982 and a few converted tankers flying until 1984. I’m pretty excited to see and hear the Vulcan come to Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Just Flight have been busy on the project with a lot of the focus being on the inside of the aircraft. Visually, the latest screenshots look impressive with very detailed textures and lighting on full display.

Meanwhile, work is being done to solve some practical issues with the airplane so that a single person in a flight sim can manage an airplane traditionally crewed by six people. For example, the much of the navigational controls are located in the rear cockpit so Just Flight are providing multiple ways to access these controls – a tablet/EFB up front will be one method, camera view options, keyboard controls, and hidden click spots are all methods available.
The EFB will also enable the fitting of various armament and different aircraft configurations, engine nozzles, and more. You’ll even be able to control aerial refuelling capabilities although no such feature is supported in MSFS so it will be purely a matter of filling the tanks of the airplane.
Just Flight promise a long awaited video feature of the Vulcan’s sounds will be coming up next and that future updates will likely be in video form.
