The same group that is currently plugging away at the Embraer E170/175 and E190/195 for Microsoft Flight Simulator have a couple of other aircraft projects out and the latest one, arriving today, is their rendition of the Tecnam P2012 Traveller. Here’s what you need to know.

Twin engine utility release

First flown in February of 2020, the Tecnam P2012 is a very modern airplane designed in Italy by Tecnam initially for Cape Air, Massachusetts. This multi-purpose utility aircraft can be used as an island hopper, medivac transport, and more and the folks at FlightSim Studio AG have set about to create a detailed rendition of it for MSFS.

Features include a G1000 panel using the updated Working Title system complete with custom CAS, engine and FMS keyboard. There’s a custom coded FADEC for the engines, pre-flight testing, GMC710 autopilot, TKS ice protection system modeling, real world liveries, interactive walk around, and a complex sound setup based on real world recordings. There’s also an EFB with a lot of features packed into it including panel state, cabin switching on the fly, and the FSS Mission Hub which intends to build mission capabilities into the aircraft. No word on if the flight model was tuned using the latest CFD system or not.

The aircraft comes with multiple configurations that include airliner, cargo, combi, two medevac options, skydive and special mission platform.

It sounds like this is packing a lot of features in and, judging by the previews (two linked below), this is a seriously impressive release. Truth will be in the testing and I look forward to trying this one out soon as I’m able!

The aircraft is available for $39.99 USD from Aerosoft and $37.38 USD from Contrail (before taxes).

Previews

There’s a ton of previews out there but these two should help give you a taste for how this aircraft flies.
