FlightSim Studio AG have just released their E190/195 E-Jets package for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The, still in early access, airliner project is closely linked with the previously released E170/175. Let’s have a look at what’s here today and what the group intend to offer in the medium term.

The bigger E-Jets

Following closely to their roadmap published a few days ago, FSS have just released the E190/195 package to online storefronts. Simulating the Embraer E-Jets series for MSFS has been a substantial project for the flight sim group and the team have previously made some inroads with their early access E170/175 and have now followed that up with E190 and E195. All four airliners, closely linked by design, appearance and systems, are in early access and some features are not yet complete.

Included at the time of release is a high quality exterior and interior model including long and short winglet versions, detailed cabin with dynamic seat layout, over a dozen liveries including Lufthansa, Azul, Breeze, Flybe, LOT, SAS and Air Dolomiti. Custom sound pack, EFB with SimBrief integration, systems simulation, and more are all part of the package.

What isn’t here yet for any of the E-Jets is the team’s custom FMC which is still being programmed. That custom FMC will also enable the aircraft to be able to perform VNAV altitude changes. The two features are closely linked and so some capabilities on the jets at the moment are more basic.

Unique to the E190/195 are two new features which are arriving on day one. The first is a Steep Approach Mode which will help with arrivals at certain airports where steep approaches are required for noise abatement. The second is a heads up display.

On sale now

Available from Aerosoft and Contrail, the FSS E-Jets 190/195 is now available for sale coming in at $39.99 on Aerosoft and $37.43 on Contrail – all before taxes.

The storefronts on both stores indicate clearly that this is an early access product so those who don’t want to deal with a in development project will want to stay away until its complete – or at least until the FMC and VNAV are added. For those who want in on what is currently available, you can of course buy them today with the benefit of enjoying a lower price of purchase. Prices on the two packages are expected to go up once primary development has concluded.

FSS are planning a E190/195 Freighter Variant which will be exclusive to owners of both E170/175 and E190/195. The Freighter Variant is planned for Q2 2024.
