The collection of Microsoft Flight Simulator airliners is about to increase by one widebody airliner in the impending release of iniBuilds A300-600. A new developer update details iniBuilds plans for the aircraft, gives us a beautiful cinematic trailer and lets us know what they plan to do after launch. They are also running a multi-day sale event with some nice discounts on some products. Here’s what you need to know!

Here comes the A300-600!

iniBuilds have given us the full feature list for version 1.0 and it comes with the usual array of airliner features. That includes a custom FMS with SIDs, STARs, SEC flight plan, custom VNAV and LNAV, altitude and speed constraints and holds. Custom systems include hydraulic, pressurization, and fuel operation, cautions and warnings, realistic RNAV and autoland capability, and more.

On launch, the product will have the General Electric GE CF6-80C2A1 engine option, however, a post launch update will add the Pratt and Whitney PW4158. More on that in a moment.

Both the A300-600R (passenger) and A300-600F (freighter) variants are coming and both will have a selection of contemporary and fictional liveries available for free. The passenger version will have a passenger cabin area that includes functional doors and emergency escape slides. The freighter will come with a long list of custom cargo loads that include aero parts, humanitarian charter, postal freight, racing team and horse stable.

The other feature coming here that is noteworthy is custom maintenance functions. That includes engine oil levels, APU oil level, hydraulic fluid levels, wheel brake wear and tire wear. Even among complex airliner projects, this is a relatively rare feature.

iniBuilds have not yet revealed pricing on this project. With an extensive array of features, I think we’ll see it available in a similar range as PMDG’s MSFS offerings. The X-Plane version was offerd for an MSRP of £69.99. It may end up being cheaper as MSFS larger market have often pushed prices lower in an effort to get more sales.

Expect a release to come any day now.

Between now (technically yesterday) and December 23 various items will be on sale in their online store with strong discounts. The items are on sale for 24 hours only with rotating items throughout the week. Some days are also devoted to product reveals like the A300-600. We’ll see what else comes our way throughout the next few days.

    Beautiful, semi-classic cockpit!

    1. Indeed! As I understand it, the -600 and the A310 that we have are basically the same cockpit with a few differences. Very much a classic cockpit for Airbus with a bunch of things that are more Boeing than Airbus – shows the evolution of their thinking when you jump into their newer planes.
