A significant announcement coming from iniBuilds with news that their next big airliner project, a follow-up to their A300-600 project that is due any day now, will be an Airbus A350 and then after that… an A380! Big news on this and some other items coming out today.
Development on the XWB
Airbus revealed their cleansheet XWB project, what would become the A350, back in 2006 and then first flew the A350 in 2013. The large widebody airliner is roughly similar in size to Boeing’s 777. The A350 has been comparatively rare in flight sims to date and none are currently available for Microsoft Flight Simulator so its with great excitement that iniBuilds have just announced that their next big project, the “secret” project that they hinted at back at FSExpo, will be an Airbus A350 in both the -900 and -1000 configuration.
Two screenshots, showing off very early work, has been released giving us a look at both variants of the airplane.

Launch is, reportedly, expected in 2024 so that immediately makes things interesting. The team are still asking for subject matter experts to assist if able. Its unsurprising as the A350 is still a new airplane and one with a slightly different cockpit setup from previous Airbuses.
If you are an A350 type rated pilot, or engineer please do reach out to us as we get into the depths of this project!
That’s not all because deep in the announcement iniBuilds have also revealed that they will then follow the A350 project with the A380. Another comparatively rare airplane in simulation, FlyByWire’s A380 project has been ongoing for quite some time and now iniBuilds is throwing their hat into the ring as well. It’s also not too surprising that they will go with the A380 after as the systems for both A350 and A380 are partially shared which saves on some of the investment for iniBuilds.
This is all good news for long-haul, wide-body airliner fans with PMDG’s 777 expected to emerge sometime in the first half of 2024 and then iniBuilds A350 potentially emerging near the end.
Other updates
Today’s update also notes that the NDA (non-disclosure agreement) for content creators will lift on Tuesday, December 26, so expect some post-Christmas live streams rolling before too long. This will also be when the price will be revealed and a welcome video will also arrive.
iniBuilds have been on a roll with scenery recently and the latest announcements are that the first quarter of 2024 will see two major releases including Abu Dhabi International (OMAA), and Leeds Braford (EGNM). Two more UK destinations are expected but won’t be revealed until later.
