Following the launch of their new airliner for Microsoft Flight Simulator, iniBuilds have released two additional updates to patch issues, fix up glitches, and even solve some crashes that were affecting some users. They are also showing off their latest work on some alternative powerplants for the aircraft. Let’s have a look!

Rapid post launch updates

iniBuilds have been rapidly offering post launch support for their A300-600 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Although the airliner has proved popular around the community (including with this writer), the aircraft hasn’t been without a few post launch issues ranging from the annoying to a few show stoppers.

Version 1.0.1 tackled a number of systems bugs such as block and ZFW fields not clearing on turnarounds, issues with the VNAV, and a few crashes. That was then followed by version 1.0.2 which was a much more substantial fix that included fixes to the flight model (a little less float in the ground effect) as well as art corrections, systems bug fixes, and a fairly substantial list of WASM crashes (this is the external web assembly code that enables a lot of custom complex systems to work). Version 1.0.3 was expected this week but hasn’t quite materialized yet. Soon I expect!

Although these issues have been annoying, a major release like this is undoubtedly going to run across some issues not found in testing and iniBuilds have been tackling issues rapidly. Compared to some slow to update post launch issues on a few other similar products, this is generally good news. I’ve got an early review of the aircraft in the works which I will expand on some of these items too so look for that!

New engines coming

At launch the A300-600 has only been equipped with the type’s General Electric GE CF6-80C2A1 engines, however, a post launch version is expected to arrive later on offering up the Pratt and Whitney PW4158 as well. That lets sim pilots either choose their preferred engine option or choose based on operator/airframe accuracy.

A couple of screenshots have been released showing off the alternate engine. Eagle-eyed viewers will no doubt notice the differences.

Keep an eye on the company’s Facebook and official forums for more information as this product matures.
