X-Plane developer X-Crafts are well known for their Embraer E-Jets simulations and are celebrating their 10th Anniversary of their first X-Plane release. They have four projects that are currently under active development, the most that they have had at any one time, and one of them is a secret. Let’s dig into it!

Big updates for E-Jets, ERJ v2, Lineage 1000

The next version of X-Craft’s E-Jets Family is version 1.1.0 and its bringing with it a series of significant updates. FMS Speed, steep approach system (for those 5.5 degree approaches into London City), ILS autotune, and new pop-up screens for the PFD, MFD and EICAS. The X-Plane 12 version of the E-Jets Family will also be receiving a flight model revision that they say is even closer to real world performance. A fine tuned autopilot and autothrottle system are also part of the mix!

Meanwhile, X-Craft’s are also busy working on a version 2 of their ERJ Family of aircraft. The current release, which includes an ERJ-135, 140, 145, 145XR and Legacy 650, works under X-Plane 12 but was setup for X-Plane 11. The new ERJ Family v2 project is currently in development with a new FMS, new high resolution nav map, new EFB, a redeveloped flight model, systems improvements and X-Plane 12 optimized features. X-Crafts report that they reached out to and now have help from 10 real world ERJ pilots to help them fine tune their flight model.

Another project that the team is currently tackling is the business jet variant of the E190, the Lineage 1000, which they say has now reached a version 1.0 of the interior. The interior is completely modeled now but is lacking in textures which is the next step in the process.

The secret project

We don’t know what it is just yet but X-Crafts are intent on celebrating their 10th anniversary of their first X-Plane add-on release. Their first E195 came out for X-Plane 9 back in 2014 which doesn’t seem like it was that long ago… but it definitely was.

According to the update from X-Crafts Director, Marko Mamula, the intent is to “gift the community something great.” Is it an airplane? Scenery? Something else? We don’t know yet but it’ll be interesting to see what they come up with.

Keep an eye on the X-Crafts website for more of these updates and for their secret project!
