It’s had nine updates so far and iniBuilds is clearly not done yet with adding features and updates to their Airbus A300-600R(F) aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The next big update will bring with it new engines and new cockpit functionality and they’ve released two videos to show it all off.

Here comes the Pratt & Whitney engines

The Airbus A300-600 was powered by a pair of either General Electric CF6-50 or Pratt & Whitney JT9D turbofans depending on which engine was selected by the purchaser. Up until now, only the GE CF6 engines were available for the A300-600, however, in the new update we’ll be able to choose between engine options. All of the updates are free to current (or future) owners.

In addition to the new engines, the cockpit will become more configurable with the addition of the IDC – a glass cockpit style interface for transponders and radios. It’s essentially a second FMC/MCDU style interface dedicated to communications and that also includes new ACARS (Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System) functionality too.

Two videos have been released surrounding the new features of this update. The first is more of a showcase video with a short cinematic take on what is coming.

If you want more detail, this second video is a 30 minute overview and tutorial for the new features that goes into more depth on the engines and engine start procedure and the IDC and CPDLC (including ACARS). The video also lets us listen in to the engines which have a distinctive sound from the CF6s. It also shows off the new ground handling physics from Sim Update 15 which is nice to see! Finally, there are also EFB updates that include a landing distance calculator and moving map system.

Watch the full video below and check out the update coming out sometime today.
