Release and livestream celebration for Shrike F-86

Shrike Simulations, the cheap yet cheerful developer that is part of Blackbird Simulations, is set to release their F-86 Sabre for Microsoft Flight Simulator and to celebrate they are having a release live stream celebration complete with a giveaway of the Shrike F-86 to a lucky winner.

Check out the live stream on March 30th at 3:00 pm EDT (they wrote EST but I think they mean EDT).

A first look at IndiaFoxtEcho’s Tornado

IndiaFoxtEcho are working diligently on a Panavia Tornado for Microsoft Flight Simulator and ex-Tornado pilot ‘cgaviator’ on YouTube got an early look at the still work in progress aircraft. This is a good first look at the aircraft though both the author of the video and IndiaFoxtEcho report that there are still rough edges that they are still smoothing over.

MS.406 for Cliffs of Dover

Team Fusion Simulations are showing off a new aircraft model coming to the IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover series. The aircraft is the French MS.406 fighter which was some service during the Battle of France.

At the moment, Team Fusion are not intending to make it a flyable airplane and it is thus limited to being AI only for now.

More Duke videos

Black Square and Just Flight have released more videos showing off the features of the upcoming Duke aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The videos cover a wide range of features including the tablet, start-up, sounds, and instruments. Here are just a few of the ones that they have released:

Spring sales underway

There are bunch of spring sales underway including the official Marketplace for Microsoft Flight Simulator, as well as Just Flight, iniBuilds and Orbx.

The Microsoft Marketplace has a big spring sale underway with up to 85% off some marketplace items. The in-game marketplace sale goes until April 11 so you have a few days to figure it all out.

The Orbx Spring Sale has just begun and that also goes until April 11 at 7:00 am UTC. They are offering up to 50% off on airports, scenery and aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I’ve already reported on it but Just Flight are having a big sale too with discounts on a wide variety of flight sim related products.

iniBuilds are also running sale on their storefront too with discounts on a wide variety of scenery and some aircraft too. Check out the iniBuilds store promotions here. iniBuilds reports that they will be doing a variety of product announcements over the Easter Weekend so we’ll have to see what they release.

The sales extend to hardware manufacturers as well with the Tobii Eye Tracker 5 on sale with a 15% discount in effect for a short period of time. Use the Stormbirds affiliate link if you’re thinking of buying one.

VIRPIL has a flash sale going on for Easter with 10% off hardware products from them. Use the code listed on their website to get the discount.

Marketplace sale. It’s about time! 🙂

Unfortunately the sceneries I want are about 25% off, not 50% which I hoped for, But it beats a kick in the ass. Looking at the Iris PC-21, and that is 50% off so that’s cool. Definitely doing some shopping.

I thought about you immediately when I saw it. Go forth are take advantage of the sales!

Which scenery were you hoping to pick up?

I heard the IRIS PC-21 is good but no personal experience yet. Too many planes, not enough time! ☺️

You thought about me because I’ve been whining about it for two-weeks. 🙂

Grabbed the Las Vegas scenery by FlyTampa! and it’s pretty good. Love the NTTR map in DCS and this brings it to a new level, except with no “Kaboom!”, and that’s fine. It’s a great scenery since you have a real circus of city night lighting right beside a major airfield. And mountains and POI not far off.

Might grab the Samscene Toronto scenery. Need some good Canadian scenery.
