We’ve somehow managed to zoom through the first few months of 2024 and have arrived at April 1st, better known in some parts of the world as April Fools’ Day. The internet and the flight sim community have traditionally had a lot of fun making up funny pranks and news items and I like to cover some of the better ones that I’ve seen in my annual April Fool’s Day round-up.
IndiaFoxtEcho cancels Tornado, goes all in on DCS: Ansaldo S.V.A
One of the first posts that I saw as part of April Fool’s Day was IndiaFoxtEcho’s cancellation post on Facebook saying that they were stopping work on their MSFS Tornado and switching over to a new DCS World product called DCS: Ansaldo S.V.A.
Of course that’s not what’s going on but well played IndiaFoxtEcho! Lots of effort went into this. Read their full post here.
iniBuilds all in on racing cars?
“New month new iniBuilds – time to change up what we make!” proclaimed iniBuild’s Facebook page today. They changed their logo, put up a new product on the page and said how excited they were to expand into the world of racing with iniR24. There’s a trailer, screenshots, and you can actually go on their store and “purchase” (for free) the racing car to race around. Hilarious.
VIRPIL’s Alpha Royale
This is a good one too! VIRPIL “announced” their new Alpha Royale left and right sticks. These golden VIRPIL Alpha grips were produced for a prominent royal family as the story goes with their team of expert engineer-jewelers producing these quality crafted items. Available for the low-low price of €9,999.95!
Aeroplane Heaven’s…. whatever this is
Behold the A-47-10 Thunderwarthog…. monstrosity. It’s got quite a bit of P-47 in there but its configured more like an A-10 and its got a F4U Corsair’s wing in there for good measure. I guess… *snicker* Brilliant work by Aeroplane Heaven!
