It feels like we’re building up towards a release from Polychop Simulations as the team shows off yet another video of the DCS: OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. Let’s have a look!

Kiowa cockpit, day and night

Looking closely at the details of the DCS: OH-58D’s cockpit, the latest video from Polychop Simulations is a cinematic cockpit tour. The video gets us close to a lot of the cockpits details from the wear and tear on some of the instruments and controls to the systems up and running and the helicopter flying in various locations. There’s good images of the cockpit both day and night which is great to see.

Is Polychop gearing up for a release on this long awaited module? It does feel like we’ve been seeing some more from this group recently.

  1. I’m sure I’ll skip this, but that is a great looking cockpit! Really nice textures.

  2. It’s a Helo, I love helo’s, so it’s going to dent the credit card, but it’ll be worth it.

    1. Yeah, I love the choppers, they really show off the work that has been put into the maps. It’s staggering the level of detail in some backwater on the Sinai or Syria map (for example) and there is just so much territory to explore that I don’t notice at Angels 20+. The Gazelle and HUEY being my favs at the moment, although I’m discovering the Mi-8.

The Kiowa just seems like it’s gonna hit the sweet spot. I find the Apache overly complex and as a SP main, a more modern chopper that is still flyable as single player without fiddling with AI co-pilot stuff seems quite exciting. Yes, the AI in the Apache and Hind are damn impressive but it nerfs my immersion to jump from one cockpit to the other. And if I don’t I only get half the heli experience. So. I’m looking forward to it.

Sounds like this is going to be a great addition to your virtual hangar!

It may well end up being a good middle ground for me too. I am looking forward to flying it!
