Two big news items out of Microsoft and Asobo tonight with the release of their latest Local Legend, the Do 31 VTOL transport, as well as City Update 06 which focuses on the southwestern part of Germany. Let’s have a look!
VTOL transport prototype

Local Legend 15 is out and its the Dornier Do 31 prototype VTOL transport aircraft that has been developed by iniBuilds for Microsoft. This aircraft is firmly in the experimental category with the West German government in the early 1960s seeking to develop a jet-powered VTOL transport that could takeoff and land anywhere. The project didn’t pan out but not before a couple of prototypes flew.
The aircraft comes with seven liveries and is available on the Marketplace for $14.99 USD.
There’s a promo trailer to watch below.
And that’s not all as iniBuilds have released their own video which functions as more of a tutorial on how to fly this unique airplane.
City Update 06: Southwest Germany
If you fly VFR in Germany, this latest City Update brings with it some nice new photogrammetry in the southwest German state of Baden-Württemberg. Updated cities include Mannheim, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Esslingen, and Kehl in Germany, and the French city of Strasbourg.
It’s not just cities as Friedrichshafen Airport is also part of the update.
Check out the trailer to see it in action!
