It looks like the marketing campaign for Orbx’s first DCS World map is moving up a gear. We’ve seen screenshots before but now we have a new coming soon teaser trailer. Let’s have a look!

Just a teaser

There isn’t too much here to draw from as the pre-rendered video is more of a marketing thing than gameplay or cinematic trailer. But the description under the trailer is interesting.

Something BIG is coming! Get ready, because the long-awaited DCS: Kola Map is on the brink of release, promising a heart pounding experience, covering northern Norway, Sweden, Finland, Murmansk Oblast, parts of Karelia, and the Barents Sea and Norwegian Sea to the north and west.

The countdown is on, and we’re inching closer to the big reveal – stay tuned for more info

We’re staying tuned!

As much as war sucks, the Sinai map was added at the perfect time to simulate current conflicts. I think it’s wise for map makers to focus on current and potential hotspots around the world.

  6. For some reason, I’m happy with Patagonia for Fjord bashing. This one makes me cold just thinking about the place. Did Exercise Hard Winter, 4-5 months in Norway, some years back, with the last 2 weeks up in the artic circle. I’m what we call, A Cauld Tattie…..nice to have done it….but not the place for me, but I hope it pays off for the devs

    1. I’m the opposite. Yes, I can get too cold but having grown up in the tropics and subtropics, I absolutely love the cold. Saying that, I’m kinda glad my military experience, basic training and exercises etc, wasn’t in the cold. Yes, I was wet much of the time and when it wasn’t raining the humidity was murderous. But at least I could sleep my 3-4 hours in my slit covered by a hootch 😀 I’m not sure that’s possible when it’s below zero outside. So my experience of cold is I’ve always had a heated location to return to. So, with that caveat, I love the cold, I love the snow.
