Flight Sim Studios AG have just launched their E-Jets Freighter series for owners of the E170/175/190/195 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. We have the details of this new edition of the aircraft and how you gain access to it. Let’s have a look.

On schedule

FSS report that they are on schedule have just released the freighter variant of the E190/195 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.

In the real world the E190/195F variant has only just conducted its first flight on April 5 of 2024. The press release from Embraer states that the foresee the ability to convert any of the 700 strong E190/195 fleet out there to freighter whenever customers ask for it. Freighter conversions of older aircraft are common and a many of the early E190s have been in service for 15-years now.

Back in the sim world, FSS are making the E190/195F package free to everyone who owns both the E170/175 and E190/195 packages. They are saying too that even if you bought the E170/175 on one storefront and the E190/195 on another, they will find a way to get you a license key for the airplane. Alternatively, if you don’t own any of those but want the freighter version only, FSS are now selling it by itself too and it will benefit from the same reduced price during early-access.

As a reminder, the FSS E-Jets series have been in early access for over a year as the developer has continued to refine the aircraft series. There’s much to like about the series but it does lack some key must-haves for some more dedicated airliner fans – notably the VNAV capability and a custom FMS.

The developers were also quick to note that the launch of this product has not in any way affected or delayed the work that is going on to bring a custom FMS and extended LNAV/VNAV capabilities to the E-Jets series.
