We’re just days away from Flight Sim Expo 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada and I’m getting ready to put together some content as the show progresses. It’s going to be a busy weekend with a lot of announcements, reveals, and some seriously cool informational sessions. Here’s what I’m excited about and what you might want to look out for.
Lots of exciting things coming up
I can tell you now that there are going to be product announcements over the course of the weekend and I’m hoping many of them will be pretty exciting to see and hear about.
Friday will be the first big day of the Expo. #FSExpoFriday will have Product Announcement Seminars starting at 1:00 pm and going through to 5:30 pm. Those include BlueBird Simulations, FliteSim.com, Nimbus Simulation Solutions, SayIntentions.AI, Kav Simulations, WinWing, SimFly.io, Combat Pilot, Slitherine, MicroProse, Navigraph, FlyInside, FlyingArt, Tobii AB, SoFly, and X-Plane. So you know… just a few big names in there!
Saturday and Sunday are full of things going on too with seminars and the exhibit hall running throughout the day. There will be live demos from Just Flight, FlightbeParallel42 and TFDi Design, and there will be various learning series aimed at getting people started in different aspects of flight simulation. One of those series will even feature a panel discussion called “So You Want to be Virtual Combat Pilot?” featuring Jason Williams and Carlos Flors from Combat Pilot, Requiem from the Air Combat Tutorial Library and yours truly.
Speaking of Combat Pilot, Jason has posted a brief update on their forums about some of their plans. They will be the only officially represented combat flight sim at the show and they will be showing off a prototype of their flight sim which I am beyond excited to see. It’s still early days of course but that doesn’t matter as this is the start of something that I think will be great. There will be coverage here on that for sure!
I’ll talk about my content plans later in the week but I am getting very excited to see what all of the companies will be bringing to the show!
Some events will be available to everyone and companies such as Microsoft have a couple of developer streams planned for the event. So keep an eye out for live coverage from them and on here as the weekend progresses. It’s going to be a busy one but I’m looking forward to it!
