Following last week’s Summer Surprises, iniBuilds are continuing with some more summer updates thanks to a developer stream released yesterday, new scenery released today, and two more days of content coming including a new aircraft series and some talks about the A350 and their plans for the future with X-Plane. Let’s have a look!

Covering a range of topics

The stream, hosted yesterday by Ubaid Mussa (CEO), Mike Standen (Head of Production) and Matt Yamin (Host and iniBuilds store manager), covered a range of topics surrounding develpment and projects at iniBuilds.

They talk a little about the early days of the company as initially just a small collection of enthusiasts of flight simming and how its grown into the development and storefront that it is today. Listen in to the stream for the full account of their tale but it is always interesting to know how groups like this come together.

Performance, bug testing

iniBuilds have a bit of a reputation for producing some great looking products but ones that often come with performance issues. Ubaid Mussa, answered that item up-front nearer the beginning of the presentation saying that he and the rest of the company have heard the messages about improving frame rates.

Reportedly they are in the process of doing a significant update of many of their airport scenery packages and are in the process of releasing updates to their products with new versions of some of their bigger airport scenery coming soon with performance improvements. The exact amount varies across platforms and configurations but they sound pleased with the progress. In the same vein, the A300-600 was just updated and it sports a 15% improvement on average to frame rates.

iniBuilds have also expanded their bug testing team to solve bugs and crashes but it also sounds like tackling performance is on their list of items they want to wrestle under control.

Store and scenery release

We heard a bit from Matt Yamin about the iniBuilds store. The store, centered around the iniBuilds manager software, reportedly had 60,000 users registered to the store in the first year and now its up to 130,000.

Speaking of products in the store, they reported that a new scenery would be released today and its been revealed to be Dubrovnik Čilipi airport. Looks like a good scenic destination! Check out the trailer and the store information here.

Premier aircraft series

iniBuilds are going to reveal on Wednesday a new development group within their company. They are calling it the Premier aircraft series and it sounds like its focused on small aircraft (rather than airliners as much of their development has been centered around).

The usage of the Premier title almost suggests to me that maybe this means they are doing business jets but we’ll have to wait and see what it ends up being. It could be something else entirely!

Big planes on Thursday

They are also intending to talk about their big aircraft products on Thrusday. That sounds like it will be centered primarily around their A350 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Indeed, at the end of the live stream there was a couple of short seconds of a clip showing off bits of the airplane. But that’s not all.

They are also going to restart sales for their A300 and Beluga X-Plane aircraft complete with lower prices for the aircraft and discussion on their plans for the future with X-Plane.

That’s a summary of everything that I keyed into while I was listening in on the stream. More reporting to come!
