A new update has just dropped for Fenix Simulations A320 for Microsoft Flight Simulator with a lengthy list of changes to items big and small. The company is also talking about sound changes, a new installer and the groundwork being laid for A319 and A321 releases.

New installer, sounds, more

A bunch of news is coming at us from Fenix Simulations on their popular Airbus projects.

The first item is a new installer which has launched today. The old installer was always intended by them to be a temporary product but ended up going for quite a long time. The new installer lays groundwork for the future release of the A319 & A321 product while also improving the install process for the A320. Reportedly update and download times are faster and you will no longer need to download all files in each update and instead just get what you need. Nice!

Sound improvements have also just arrived. New recordings have been used to update sounds across multiple different aspects. On the CFM56 there are a series of new recordings in place while the IAE engines have had some tweaks to balance and new airflow recordings done as well. Further work has been done to change the engine sounds according to weather conditions.

Small flight model changes have been made with a new wind simulation having been implemented. We’ll reportedly see small variations in wind readings if you kick the rudder and some natural variation in wind readings based on how the aircraft works.

As always, Fenix Simulations is focused on details big and small. The A319 and A321 product is on the way from the sounds of things but we haven’t learned much new yet. That said, a new image has emerged across various Flight Sim communities reportedly pulled from the new installer showing off the shorter A319.

  1. I wonder what they will do after they release their A319 and A321. My best guess would be the A330. But I’d rather the A340 family because there are no high fidelity A340s in MSFS (there’s Toliss’s A340-600 but that’s for X-Plane).

The A330 market seems to be getting quite crowded right now so yeah an A340 would probably be a bit of a favourite for many. I know the ToLiss is well loved by many in the X-Plane community so that’d be a great direction to go in.

      1. The Toliss A340 is a favorite of mine. I think a Fenix one would be one of my most wished for modern airliners.

I know they are getting less common today due to fuel efficiency, but Jet A is free in a sim, and four engines are twice the fun of two!

Sometimes the rarity makes for a more interesting flight sim module anyways. I think some folks would jump at the chance… I know I would!
