The classic tri-jet 727 has arrived into Microsoft Flight Simulator thanks to the release of the FlightSim Studio AG release of their 727 Freighter. This freighter only release for now looks like it is packed full of features. Let’s have a look!
Fly the Freighter 727

Officially released, FlightSim Studios latest airliner project is now out and available for purchase. The 727-200F is focused on the freighter variant of the 727 airliner. Many of these aircraft were retrofitted from passenger versions and a few are still in use in the modern day moving cargo from point to point.
The aircraft boasts the usual set of features including high quality sounds recorded from a real 727, high res textures, detailed animations and wing flex, just over a dozen included liveries, a winglet option, systems simulation including electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics and more. The aircraft has a EFB style tablet interface that is modeled on a paper clipboard, SimBrief support as well as a separate interface for automatic or manual management of the aircraft’s systems by the copilot and flight engineer (the 727 is a 3 person operation).
Unlike FSS’ E-jets series, the 727 is releasing fully featured and not into an early access release. That project remains ongoing by a separate team within the studio. A separate passenger version of the aircraft is in development and will be released at a later date.
The FSS B727 Freighter is available for sale through Aerosoft’s website for $39.99 USD. You can also learn more about it on the FSS website.
