We’ve got a video update from BlueBird Simulations talking about their highly anticipated 757 for Microsoft Flight Simulator together with a few status updates on their efforts around the 767 and 787. Let’s have a look!

Night lighting and project update

The first part of the update appears to be aimed at addressing some concerns from the community about the project. Any big and highly anticipated flight sim product is going to attract its share of armchair project managers and BlueBird looks to be hoping to set the record straight.

They assure the community that the 757 is their primary project and that they are working on releasing the airplane as soon as they can. Efforts on that project are aimed almost entirely at the coding side of things which is of course extremely important but also the most invisible when it comes to status updates like this one. Meanwhile, the artists whose job is essentially complete with the 757 have turned to the 767 and 787. An ideal use of resources whose tasks have been completed on the one project.

The other note they make is regarding the early announcement of the 787 and on that BlueBird Simulations says FSExpo was the ideal time for them to reveal that project. They’ve already had pilots, maintainers, and crew reach out to offer support to get details right which is obviously an important part of the development process.

Onto the status updates, we’ve got a two part video here with the first part aimed at showing off some night lighting. The second video will release later in the month and show off some of the sound work that is moving towards completion.

There is no release date yet but the video makes it clear that there is light at the end of the tunnel and that they are looking towards beta testing when they reach that point. Though they didn’t say it, BlueBird Simulations did say that they want to do it right and that it will be “done when it’s done.” I know from experience that sometimes its difficult to project exactly when that is until its almost upon you. With luck, that will be sooner than later.

Check out the video for the full experience and stay tuned for another one later this month!

  1. They’ve come a long way since 2022. They’ve poured their heart and soul into this project. I’m excited for it to come out.
