A German magazine has accidentally published (and then unpublished) new information about Microsoft Flight Simulator. Of course, the internet never forgets so we’ve learned quite a bit this afternoon about the aircraft planned for 2024. The list is much longer than I would have expected! Let’s have a look!

New and returning aircraft

Though it’s always good to approach a leak with caution, given the proximity to release date and the plausibility of both the aircraft on the list and the nature of the leak itself (a busted embargo date) it seems likely that the posted list is accurate. If it turns out to be an elaborate hoax, I’ll update the article.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was already shaping up to be quite the product and the aircraft list has me even more excited about what will be on offer. In addition to an extensive list of aircraft that we already have, there are a couple dozen new ones also coming. The total list is 91 aircraft long with 40 of them being new types.

Among the new aircraft listed are types like the A-10C, Draco X, Cirrus Vision SF50, De Haviland Canada CL-415, and A-400M which we already knew about. There are reveals too like the 787-400 Global Supertanker and LCE Dreamlifter, the C-17 Globemaster III, CH-47D Chinook, Pilatus PC-24, Cessna 400 Corvalis TT, Saab 340, Airbus A321LR and more!

Here’s the complete list as typed out by r/flightsim user “MyWholeTeamsDead” (thanks for doing that):

That list combines with my excitement with what we already know about MSFS 2024’s default aircraft which are said to be arriving at a much higher level of fidelity than MSFS 2020’s default aircraft. The Airbus A330 for example no doubt draws on iniBuilds A320neo V2, types like the Cirrus Vision come from Flight FX who developed an incredible aircraft module there, and if all of these manage to reach those levels of fidelity then we are in for a real treat. We will, of course, have to see how it all plays out but needless to say the next version of MSFS is coming packed full of new and returning airplanes.

  1. Ok, here goes my planned productive morning…

Let’s see, the new addtions I’d like to fly regularly:

    Turbo prop: KingAir C90, Saab 340B, A400M, PC-12, CL-415, DHC-6, ES-30 (hybrid eletric?)
    Jet: C-17, PC-24, A321, A330, 737 Max8, SF50
    Helo: H225, CH-47D, H125, R66
    Piston: Cessna 400, Albatross

Well, I guess MS2024 is becoming an offer that I just cannot deny 🙂 Great to see so may new turboprops and all are big names too!

  2. Well that answers the question of whether there would be Premium and Premium Deluxe edition for 2024 (apparently it wasn’t a certainty)

    1. Indeed. If the list is truly accurate then it does seem like they will be doing all three SKUs. And they have the aircraft lineup to make it worthwhile.

  3. That’s a lot of planes.

Will you have the airport list this afternoon? 🙂

    1. I don’t think that was leaked. Good to save a few secrets until closer to release. 😀

  4. just wondering if I bought the chinook for 2020 is that same same version that comes with 2024 ? I’ve been mulling my situation over, I don’t own the game (2020) I have free gamepass with my phone contract. I have stupidly bought many many many addons for 2020 without owning the game 😂😂😂 how will this affect 2024 do you reckon. I was going to buy it but if there is some issue where I have to go back and buy 2020 to keep my addons I’m going to cry a lot

    1. Miltech has confirmed that the CH-47D in 2024 is not theirs. So you can continue to enjoy the one you own already or try out the other one.

    1. We’ve already got one as part of Expert Series 1. None of this list appear to overlap with any of their released aircraft series, L-39 and P-51 excepted.

      1. Regarding the L-39, P-51 and T-6 on the list for MSFS2024, I wonder if the dev team would improve the system simulation depth for these airplanes carried over from 2020? I never got the Reno Air Race addon, because judging from the price I had thought that they would be very basic ones with next to no system simulation or clickable cockpit…

      2. We don’t know of course but there’s been comments on how all of the default aircraft have seen updates so hopefully they’ve been given a solid work over.

  6. The Aviators Edition is one step up from Premium Deluxe and includes ALL 30 of the Famous Flyers and Local Legends!

Somehow, even tho I have Prem Dlx, I never got around to purchasing many of them, so it’s a No Brainer for me to pick up this edition. 🙂
