You may recall a couple of days ago my article on playing the Scramble: Battle of Britain demo. The game was supposed to emerge into early access the next day, however, a slight hiccup in the launch process saw the title get a small one-day delay. Now its out and we have pricing, a cool trailer, and more!
Time to scramble
A turn-based tactical dogfighting game centred around the Battle of Britain, Scramble is quite an interesting concept where you play through various dogfight scenarios turn by turn, play by play, mapping out your actions and reacting to the enemy. The game promises to be approachable but it also has some simulation depth in it with flight models, detailed damage models, and a variety of period authentic aircraft. As I learned in the demo, the AI is also pretty adept at managing a variety of tactical scenarios and it certainly kept me on my toes.
In the initial release, the scenarios are based on the Channel Defense part of the Battle of Britain campaign. Aircraft include the Spitfire, Hurricane, Bf109, Bf110, Ju87, Do17, Ju88, and He111. Everything that you need to make for an interesting Battle of Britain scenario.

Scramble: Battle of Britain is now available in early access and that means that there’s more to come. Several major updates are reportedly planned with the campaign expanding beyond The Channel War phase and expanding into the rest of the summer of 1940. More airplanes, enhanced AI, fine tuned squadron management, pilot trait system refinement, multiplayer, and general polishing are all planned.
The game is now on sale through Steam for $29.99 USD with a -10% early access discount bringing that down to $26.99 USD. Check it out on the Steam Store here!
