As we near the beginning of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, content for 2020 is coming out fast and furious and Just Flight have just thrown another aircraft onto the pile. This time they are releasing their long awaited Avro RJ, the modernized follow on to the BAe 146. We have a full list of features, pricing, and some bundle options too. They’ve also indicated what their MSFS 2024 upgrade plans are which is great. Let’s have a look!

Avro RJ released

Launch trailer

Just Flight have released the high-fidelity or “study level” Avro RJ after a long development period. Just Flight have indicated in their storefront that a free upgrade to MSFS 2024 will be made available as soon as possible.

Following the release of MSFS 2024 we will release free compatibility updates to all owners of the RJ Professional and 146 Professional. The updates will be made available as soon as possible once both aircraft have been fully tested in the release version of MSFS 2024.

The new airliner release features three variants of the RJ family: the 70, 85 and 100. Each variant being longer than the last. The RJ updated the BAe 146 family with a new glass cockpit setup, FADEC engine control, flight management system, and an auto throttle. Some of the features, such as the autopilot panel, share a lot with the 737 of the same era, which makes it a bit more approachable.

This lengthy overview video covers the Avro RJ in extensive detail.

There are some extra features like a fully modeled cabin with working music system and simulated coffee maker. Automatic cabin announcements and cockpit co-pilot callouts are also packaged in. The aircraft is configurable with Just Flight’s EFB with NaviGraph and SimBrief integration.

The aircraft of course also has the usual array of highly detailed exterior and interior textures, modeling, and a wide variety of liveries from operators all across the world.

Just Flight are selling the RJ Professional for $69.99 USD or as part of a bundle package with the RJ and 146 Professional for $125.95 USD.

  1. It’s good to see what they have done with their Avro Regional Jet. I also want to say that I am looking forwards to the release of their Fokker 70/100, and A300 B4 as well. I’d like to see how the quality of the B4 measures up to the iniBuilds A300-600R. I’d also like to see them do the DC-10 and L-1011 Tristar for MSFS, trusting that they would do such a good job on them as they have done on their previous projects for 2020, but I won’t ramble on too much on what I’d like to see in the sim.

I have a question about the Just Flight 747 Classic. Is it still being made or has it been cancelled? If it has been cancelled I think that’s a shame because a 747-100 and 200 would be done to the highest level possible in terms of visual and sound effects and . I know that PMDG is working hard on there own 747-100 but I think that two companies doing a common aircraft would be very healthy for the sim for competition as they would strive for better quality over each other.

Just Flight were asked about a 747 project recently on their social media. It’s not a project I was aware of but it doesn’t sound like it’s on their priority list right now. It may have been prior to MSFS shaking up the market.

PMDG, as you mentioned, have announced recently an extensive lineup of 747 variants and Just Flight may be looking to offer something different. Even their A300B4 is quite a different experience from the more modern A300-600.

I don’t think we know what their plans are post A300 and F70/100. Be interesting to see where they may go. Their high fidelity airliner lineup is quite an interesting offering already.

      1. They seem to like recreating aircraft that are from the 70s and 80s. I think that that is the kind of niche they are happy with. I’d like to see them complete the 747 classic one day.
