The turn-based air combat simulator Scramble: Battle of Britain has just received its latest update and I thought it’d be a great opportunity to look at what’s changed and what is on the roadmap for this unique turn-based air combat sim.
Updates, beta tests, and roadmaps

Yesterday, Scramble: Battle of Britain, got its latest update bringing it up to v.010.004. The update adds fixes and enhancements across the game. Aircraft physics have been tweaked for aircraft flying straight and level, there’s support for more button/input glyphs for popular gamepads, and there are gameplay tweaks as well with every pilot now getting one leadership trait – skills and abilities that affect the whole section during the mission.
Back in November, a roadmap towards release was also revealed with a new beta branch becoming available to early access players soon so you can get to new content and features more quickly – with the caveat that there may be more bugs in the beta build. Some significant updates to the Squadron Leader mode are coming as is 1v1 Multiplayer and the Hawker Hurricane.
In the future, the Bf110 is on the way, AI bombers, pilot traits and training, a scenario editor, new mission types, a soundtrack, landscape and environmental art, and even more pilot nationalities. It’s all summarized in this graphic.
