We’ve got a new set of updates coming in from Microsoft Flight Simulator developers iniBuilds who have a bunch of aircraft and scenery related projects that they are currently tackling and plan to work on in the new year. The highlights include news that the A350 is coming in Q1 2025 as is their Spartan 7W project, there’s a recap of A300-600 updates, and talk about scenery projects.

A350 is coming with a long list of features

iniBuilds are almost set to go with their Airbus A350 simulation. The project has been in the works for quite some time now and we’ve seen a few status updates about it including one back in the summer. They were originally planning for a late 2024 launch but its been delayed slightly, no surprise with a big complicated airplane like this one, and its set to come out in the next couple of months – Q1 2025!

The developers are touting a lengthy list of features including detailed cabins with cabin announcement system and flight attendant panel. It has a custom terrain radar, NaviGraph and SimBrief support, complex maintenance simulation, supports the Airbus airport navigation function (ANF), models structural vibrations such as elevator flutter, and it does GPS jamming as a feature too.

iniBuilds reconfirms that the A350-900 and A350-1000 will be available on launch. The A350-900 Ultra Long Range (ULR) is planned for a free update later in the year.

They’ve also confirmed that the A350 will be available for both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 in a single purchase with users able to use the aircraft in both sims. The one caveat will be that some features will not work with 2020 and iniBuilds reports that they will comprehensively list what those are before launch.

We’ve also got new screenshots and a new trailer showcasing the jet.

Travel in vintage style with the Spartan

I’ll admit, I kind of forgot that iniBuilds was working on a Spartan 7W. This executive monoplane was developed in the mid 1930s and 36 were built at the time before production ended. Despite the small production order, 20 still exist and fly with the majority based in the US.

The aircraft is part of the same Premier Aircraft series that their T-33 belongs to. It will feature multiple cockpit and cabin variations with both a more modern take on the airplane, representing some of those that still fly in the modern day, as well as a vintage configuration as well.

This is expected to launch in January or February of 2025.

Updates to the A300 series

This is more of a summary of things that we already know but iniBuilds were keen to point out. The Compatible Edition of the A300-600 has moved up to V1.1.4 and fixes a couple of crash bugs. Meanwhile, the A300-600 Premium Edition goes up to V1.0.1 with additional MSFS 2024 features, has also been released fixing some rain effects, missing back lighting, and more.

A summary of scenery updates

The folks at iniBuilds have a lengthy list of in-house developed products. Most of them appear to have come over to MSFS 2024 as part of their compatibility program with little issue. Apparently scenery not on the compatibility list also seem to work with few issues so you can theoretically drag them over as well on your own. Unclear if they will all be marked as compatible later on.

They’ve also announced that their edition of EGLL London Heathrow is being redone for 2024. The iconic hub located near London is being remade using new MSFS 2024 features including the new LOD system for better performance. You’ll also be able to walk around the tarmac and around the rest of the airport too.

They report that this will be a new product and current owners of the MSFS 2020 edition will receive a discount towards purchase.

Moving on from that, the team are a bit more secret about what comes next but report that they are updating popular hubs, creating new ones in familiar regions, as well as visiting new regions of the world that they haven’t made airports for before. I wonder if we’ll see some more South American content to dovetail with the forthcoming World Update? We’ll have to wait and see.

  1. I am looking forwards to iniBuilds A350 coming to both versions of MSFS. I am however also curious to see if other third party developers like FSLabs, Fenix or PMDG will want to challenge iniBuilds directly by making their own virtual version of the A350. I know about Digital Flight Dynamics efforts to bring their own freeware A350 to the sim, but that will still be a while a way. There is nothing like a little direct competition to incentivize developers into improving their each other’s products, am I right?

    1. Competition is usually good although I would suggest its already quite strong. While we don’t have any other A350s, PMDG’s 777 is a competitor product in many ways and there are so many good airliner products on the market. iniBuilds haven’t appeared to shortchange us on features either.

What will be interesting is if they’ve managed to sort out some of the performance issues with this. I haven’t tested the A300-600 in MSFS 2024 yet either but I’m keen to soon and see how its performing.
