The latest update of early access turn-based dogfight simulator title Scramble: Battle of Britain is now out. Version 0.12.003 is called “Hurricane Update” and its bringing with it the Battle of Britain classic of the same name. There are other enhancements too so lets catch up with Scramble.

Hurricane joins the fray

Joining into the dogfight is the Hawker Hurricane. A classic Battle of Britain fighter, the Hurricane made up approximately 2/3rds of the RAF’s fighter force during the battle and while it wasn’t as capable as the Spitfire, it gave a good accounting of itself here and through the rest of the war. Now, early access Scramble players can take the aircraft into simulated turn-based dogfights.

The Hurricane has been introduced alongside several other updates including performance optimization of flight path icons, VFX tweaks, improvements to control surface animation, debris fixes, and menu updates. There are also a few updates to the Squadron Leader mode.

The Hurricane is the star of the show and has been added to instant action missions, to the in-game almanac, and new missions are available for the type as well.

I took it out for a quick test run (and did horribly versus some AI 109s) but had a bit of fun anyways. Did get some good screenshots with the cinematic camera mode though.
