A second showcase video from the iniBuilds team released yesterday has confirmed that their Airbus A350 simulation is nearly ready to go and will be releasing between the 24th and the 28th of February. Let’s have a look!

A350 priced and nearly ready to fly

There are clarifications and details abound in the latest showcase video from iniBuilds. Some of the key takeaways include their longer term plans for the aircraft and confirmation that the A350-900 and A350-1000 are scheduled to arrive at launch and that the A350-900ULR (a variant with reduced cargo but increased fuel plus other small refinements) will be coming in Q2.

The release date as already mentioned is in a window of time between February 24 and 28 – this presumably so that iniBuilds has a small window of opportunity to fix any last minute issues.

The aircraft is expected to launch on both MSFS 2020 and 2024 platforms.

As to the price, iniBuilds confirms that the will be selling the A350 for £59.99 (plus VAT). This translates to $75.50 USD at current conversions and matches the $74.99 USD price from PMDG for their 777-300ER though the iniBuilds A350 manages to offer two (and soon three) variants for the price of one from PMDG.

Additional features

In addition to the headlining details about pricing and variants on offer, the video also gives us a look at some interesting extra features being put into the A350.

Just to give you a sense, we’ve got a custom structural vibration system that shakes the flaps, wings, tailplane and other elements of the aircraft, visual effects that include vorticies and condensation, custom cabin and lighting options, bird strike and GPS jamming that can be enabled with visual damage from the former showing visually on the airplane.

The livery configuration system lets you setup the aircraft with features like tail camera, different vent configurations and more depending on the aircraft that you want to simulate.

iniBuilds also confirmed features like pause at top of descent, auto step climb, and the ability to speed up 2x or 4x the sim rate to help make long haul flights more manageable.

All in all, it sounds like iniBuilds are bringing forward a solid competitor in the large long-haul airliner market that has, up to now, been mostly dominated by PMDG’s 777 series.
