A modding group calling themselves SkyForge Studios has announced on the DCS World forums their intention and initial progress on building a SEPECAT Jaguar GR.1A. Let’s have a look!
Modded Jaguar
We’ve been talking quite a bit about the Jaguar recently with AzurPoly’s in-development payware project for MSFS taking shape and moving towards completion recently. Over on the DCS World side of things there haven’t been any officially announced payware modules, however, SkyForge Studios has taken it upon themselves to develop a mod for the sim.
The team are intending to do a RAF GR.1A and are intending to build the mod as a standalone product rather than having it based on a Flaming Cliffs series of aircraft as some mod teams have done. They also intend to build a 3D model and cockpit and make use of an EFM flight model.
Some DCS World mods are good for a bit of fun while others are more serious freeware efforts. The A-4 Skyraider community project, for example, remains a gold standard among DCS projects. We’ll have to see how this project pans out and what we may see from this group as it evolves.
