A couple of DCS World Weekend news updates to talk about this week. Eagle Dynamics are reporting that they have partnered with ‘Currenthill’ to bring new AI assets to DCS World. There’s also a new sale underway with some decent savings on various modules. Here we go!
New assets for DCS World
DCS World has always benefitted from the assets in the world around it. We’ve seen slow additions from Eagle Dynamics themselves and, more recently, the additions made by various third party developers and contributors. The latest partnership is with developer ‘Currenthill’ who is known in the community for creating various assets.
A huge amount of work has gone into integrating the assets; creating Levels of Detail; generating IR textures; adding desert, woodland and winter textures; creating damaged and destroyed models, and more. In parallel, we are creating new weapons like the Iskander, ATACMS, and IRIS-T SLM missiles to support these new assets. Some assets will also add new capabilities such as the IRIS-T surface to air missile system that features active radar-guidance paired with infrared-guidance; this makes it a deadly adversary.
The assets reportedly sport high resolution textures, LODs (thank you!), custom sounds and animations, liveries for different seasons, and FLIR texture support.

Calling it the “Cold War Sale” in recognition of the launch of DCS: Cold War Germany, Eagle Dynamics has launched the latest series of discounts across a wide variety of products (not just those belonging to the Cold War era).
The discounted modules are available on the e-Shop until the May 12 and on the DCS Steam Edition until May 5 at 15:00 GMT.
