Another workhorse aircraft is coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator with iniBuilds F406 Caravan II. The team have worked with a real world operator to build the aircraft for the sim and appear to be focused on some of the missionized options for the aircraft. Let’s have a look at the announcement.

A 13-minute intro video includes interviews with real world operators of the F406 Caravan II and their collaboration with the RVL Group from the East Midlands Airport in the UK.

While the aircraft appears to have many of the typical features including detailed modeling using 3D scans and immersive sound by Echo 19 Audio, the real focus looks to be on some of the utility capabilities of the airplane. Four variants include passenger, cargo, surveillance (with camera), coastguard (with radar), and spray (for environmental missions). The aircraft will support MSFS 2024’s Career Modes including Passenger & VIP Transport as well as Cargo Operations.

Full autopilot system with integrated GTN 650 and compatibility with the PMS and TDS avionics as well. Navigraph charts, dynamic loading systems, and other features are available through the EFB.

iniBuilds says the aircraft will be available very soon. No release date or pricing has been announced just yet but from the looks of things we won’t be waiting for a lengthy period of time for this.
