The news keeps on coming as Microsoft has just unleashed Famous Flyer 12: Piper PA-28-236 Dakota. This version of the PA-28 has yet to have been covered and its now available in both MSFS 2020 and 2024.

Piper’s PA-28 has been well covered in Microsoft Flight Simulator thanks to a few different releases from Carenado and Just Flight. Now the sim is getting its own Famous Flyer release of a PA-28 with the -236 Dakota variant. Featuring a tapered wing, Lycoming O-540-J3A5D engine with 235 horsepower, and fixed gear. The aircraft is part of the Warrior family of PA-28s.

The aircraft is equipped with a relatively conventional six pack with GNS530/430 GPS and autopilot. Looks like a good candidate for some cross country GA flying!

The the Piper PA-28-236 Dakota is available today in MSFS 2020 for $14.99 USD while being the third of four free aircraft for MSFS 2024 as part of the “Make Good” campaign.
