The C-160 Transall for Microsoft Flight Simulator is getting a big update. This according to developer AzurPoly who have been working on a small update for the MSFS 2020 version of the aircraft while building a MSFS 2024 version using new technologies from the new sim. We know pricing, timeline and details so let’s have a look!

Updating the Transall

AzurPoly have made several aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator but its their C-160 Transall that first made a lot of sim enthusiasts pay close attention to this developer. The MSFS 2020 version of the aircraft is remarkably fun to fly for a mid-sized military transport aircraft and the developer has been working once again to further enhance the experience.

Coming later this month, the aircraft will see a native MSFS 2024 release. The aircraft has been fully rebuilt with modular architecture (as many native MSFS 2024 aircraft have been), soundpack enhanced by Echo 19, improved textures and visual quality, new tire model with new textures and deformation, additional French and German liveries, flare launch system, enhanced paratrooper models, interactive walk-around ode, and more realistic systems modeling for pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Its a lengthy list!

The MSFS 2020 version will see the Echo 19 audio update in a release for that version of the aircraft as well. The additional features, most of them making use of MSFS 2024 features, will be in that sim only.

The developer reports that the MSFS 2020 version will see its price lowered from $33 USD to $28 USD. The MSFS 2024 version will be sold for $35 USD and a $10 USD upgrade for current 2020 owners will be available. The update will come to both PC and Xbox. Look for it to arrive later this month!
