Ugra Media has begun showing off an update for DCS: Normandy 2.0 which features winter textures. The added season for the map moves it one significant step towards completion. Let’s have a look!
Let it snow, let it snow

Ugra Media has become one of the go-to developers for maps in DCS World. Their original DCS: Normandy map went through several significant iterations before they released an enlarged and overhauled Normandy 2.0. The new map has sported spring, summer and autumn textures and is now adding winter to the mix as well.
Posted yesterday, the screenshots show off winter textures in various locations around the map as well as showing off the winter variations for the buildings and vegetation.
The note from Ugra Media plays up the addition to the map:
For the first time for the Normandy map! War knows no breaks, and now you will have to fight in harsh winter conditions. Snow-covered fields and airfields will create a completely new experience of piloting and navigation. Now you will be in conditions where you need to watch out for the enemy and for icing. Greenery is now hidden under a blanket of snow. A new atmosphere, new conditions for missions, it will be available soon.
There is no word on when this update is coming, however, the note in the update thread simply states that it is coming soon. Conceivably that would be during the next major DCS World update.
See it in motion
Ugra Media have also posted four videos to their YouTube channel which let you see the winter variation in motion.
