Lots of significant updates have come from a multitude of developers for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Previously released aircraft are seeing significant changes like CowanSim’s SAS autopilot update for a half dozen products, or COWS adding the NG variant to the DA40, updates to three of iniBuilds aircraft, and significant MSFS 2024 updates for BlackSquare. CowanSim fleet gets smarter

Most of the helicopters that make up the CowanSim fleet have all just seen a big update. Both 2020 and 2024 helicopters have received the update together with various other fixes and additions. That includes the addition of PMS GTN650/750 and upgraded G3X Touch.

The big update is the addition of a custom CowanSim SAS autopilot system has been added to seven helicopters.

Work on the 222B, 222UT and S-76 is still underway. For 2020 helicopters, these will be the last updates while work continues on 2024.

Black Square 2024 overhauls complete

All native Black Square aircraft have been updated with new features and have been made 2024 compatible. Some of the features include preflight/walk-around for 2024, updated lighting, animations, added headphone sound simulation, and more. The aircraft updated are the Turbine Duke, Piston Duke, Starship, TBM 850, and Velocity XL.

Flight FX updates Citation X

The Citation X from Flight FX has seen a bunch of updates recently bringing the version number up to 1.3.7. There are changes that include improved audio, visuals, avionics, handling, and other enhancements to the simulation of this aircraft.

COWS updates DA40 and DA42

Aircraft developer COWS has done some significant updates to their DA40 and DA42 aircraft. DA40 adds the NG series (to the previously released XLS) with a free update for owners. The company has also done a custom electrical setup for their twin engine DA42.

iniBuilds updates Caravan, T-33, A350

The latest updates for various iniBuilds aircraft is out. The F406 Caravan II has arrived with visual updates, model fixes, avionics updates, and more. Change log is available here.

The same goes for the T-33 with some minor fixes to the canopy LOD.

Meanwhile, the A350 has received yet another update bringing that to v1.1.5 with updates focused on system improvements, WASM crashes, fixes to SU3 LOD issues, new features and more. All listed here.

SimWorks reports on PC-12 updates

The folks at SWS report that their PC-12 is getting some updates and that the next update is done minus a fix for tendency to veer to the right on takeoff. Other updates include another pass on the flight model, EFIS improvements, addition of the new SWS EFB system to the airplane, and the addition of SystemPulse – SWS’ reliability system for the airplane. 2024 native support coming too.

The company plans to wrap up many of the updates for the aircraft by end of the year while they switch to the PC-12 NG variant.

The company has also talked about the new PC-12 PRO which is the very latest version.
