Reveals keep on coming and this one comes to us from Just Flight who have revealed that they are coming out with a new aircraft for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and 2024. This time around its the Nanchang CJ-6 trainer!

Nanchang CJ-6 coming

Just Flight are calling this something “a bit different” than their usual fair and indeed it looks that way as they tackle the Nanchang CJ-6. This aircraft is a basic trainer developed by Nanchang as a follow-on to the earlier CJ-5 which was a license-built variant of the Yak-18. If you see just a bit of Yakovlev DNA in the design, that’s because there is.

The aircraft’s primary user is China’s PLAAF (People’s Liberation Army Air Force), however, the CJ-6 has become quite popular around the world and is on the civil registers in countries including the US, Australia, UK, South Africa and beyond.

So far we’ve just had the teaser on Facebook but apparently we’ll learn a lot more about the aircraft and its availability next week. Curious to see how this aircraft fits into the Just Flight roster of aircraft.

One response to “Just Flight reveal CJ-6 as next project”

  1. Someone needs to do it in DCS. It would make a good basic trainer for the Chinese side.
