Microsoft Flight Simulator third party developer FlightSim Studio have just put out their Status Quo Q3-2025 status update containing information about the entirety of their product line including news about the 727, E-Jets, and Tecnam series of aircraft. The company have also just released the Super 27 add-on for their 727 aircraft. Let’s have a look at the latest.

The Super 27 has released, plus 727-100 in pipeline

FSS’ 727 line has received another significant update. This time its the Super 27 which is a modernization pack for the 727-200 Freighter and Passenger variants. The company is releasing this package as an upgrade to either (or both) of those previous releases.

Some of the changes include updated JT8D-217C engines, digital fuel gauges, auto spoilers, moving map display, digital VSI and integrated TCAS and the Collins EFIS suite which includes VNAV functionality. The package also comes with liveries for both freight and passenger variants to represent the more modern iteration of the 727.

The expansion is being sold on the Aerosoft store for €16.76. Remember, you need at least one of the base models to get this version.

Next in the pipeline is the 727-100 with both dedicated freight and passenger versions planned.

E-Jets progress

The E-Jets series by FSS has long been in development. The early access release of this airliner has been protracted with the development of a custom FMC, autopilot, and navigational database dragging on for years. Indeed, the initial release was in January of 2023. Over the interim, the community has become less than forgiving with slow update progress leading to a blow-up in the developer’s Discord server several months ago.

The good news is that progress appears to be happening on some significant outstanding issues and in their Q3 status update we’ve learned that the closed beta is making progress. Some of those include fixing autopilot bugs (skipping waypoints and cutting corners), auto-throttle oscillation, and performance prediction issues. The developers are also working their way through NaviGraph integration and solving issues with the aircraft’s VNAV system. The video below shows off the system briefly in action.

The group have not yet released these significant avionics changes but hint at a Christmas release window.

The Tecnams

Over the last couple of years FSS have released the P2006T and P2012 for MSFS 2020. We’ve learned in the same Q3 update that the P2006T will get an enhanced 3D model, new textures, improved flight dynamics, and 2024 walkaround features. The P2012 will also get the walkaround features, new EFB and improved sounds.

The updates have no ETA but are in progress.

One response to “FlightSim Studio release Super 27, update on E-Jets, Tecnams and more”

  1. It is good to see that the 727 Family is getting a lot of love and attention from these people. Same as for the Embraer E-Jets as well. I just hope they make the Embraer E2 one day, even if it is just the E-190 E2 and E-195 E2 (the E-175 E2, which was made specifically for the US market is still waiting for the scope claus laws to be altered, can wait a while IMO). I know I have expressed my desire for an Embraer E2 family for MSFS, so I apologise for the repetitiveness. One day maybe.
