We’ve got a great status update coming to us from A2A Simulations. The Aerostar 600 is moving out of early access thanks to the 1.0.0 update which has just come out. The team have also confirmed that a MSFS 2020 version of the aircraft is now planned.

Early access ended and 2020 release confirmed

A2A has confirmed that the latest version 1.0.0 release of their Aerostar 600 product has officially ended their early access release plans. They reflect that they were able to stay within their goals of releasing weekly updates, taking in community feedback, and bring new features to the Aerostar step-by-step. It’s always good to see a plan come together!

Version 1.0.0 incorporates a new RNAV unit, adds electric engine heaters, fixes a few minor bugs, maps fuel selectors to MSFS bindings, and tunes the elevator authority among other updates.

Future plans include bringing in visible passengers, adding a “flour cargo option” a new custom pushback UI, multiplayer display checks, and Xbox compatibility and a Marketplace release. Those last two points are sure to be huge for fans of A2A’s products.

The other big news is that A2A have heard the community and have decided, by popular request, to make the aircraft available for MSFS 2020 as well. The 2020 version will be included free in the 2024 version and it will have most of the same features as the original minus some 2024 specific abilities. It won’t support the 2024 walkaround mode, and dynamic dirt/wear visuals won’t be available either. The rest of A2A’s Accu-Sim fidelity will be present.

Other future plans

A2A are also busy working on a few other items for release. An Aerostar livery pack is planned so that Xbox users will have more visual variety and will join the Comanche Livery Pack 1 already available. Comanche Livery Pack 2 is planned.

The team are also teasing their next project.

Once Aerostar tasks are complete, we’ll be moving on to the next aircraft. The only detail we can share right now is that it will be a brand-new aircraft, never before modelled by us at A2A.

Curious to see what A2A manage to put together for their next project.

  1. Haha, “flour cargo.” No doubt inspired by the movie American Made.

    Such a great airplane movie.

      1. If you haven’t seen it, I rank it right up there with the other, slightly more well-known Tom Cruise airplane movies.

Good to know! I’ll have to keep an eye out for it.
